Former Real Madrid player, Fabio Coentrao cries after being substituted during match | PHOTO

Former Real Madrid star, Fabio Coentrao broke down in tears for the second time in a matter of weeks after being subbed last night.

The Sporting Lisbon defender, on-loan from Real Madrid, was taken off with just before the hour mark of the Europa League clash with Astana in Kazakhstan.

Despite his side leading 3-1, the defender was clearly upset at the decision.

And he made no secret of his unhappiness as he turned on the waterworks while taking his place on the bench, leading to him being comforted by club president Bruno de Carvalho.

It is not the first occasion that the Portugal international has cried after being taken off.

Just last month the centre-back’s anger spilled over after he was subbed in the 96th minute of an away match at Vitoria Setubal.
