China's largest e-commerce site JD.com founder Richard Liu investigated for rape

Liu Qiangdong, CEO and founder of JD.com, has been accused of rape.
The CEO of China’s e-commerce site JD.com, Richard Liu, was arrested in Minnesota on a charge of criminal sexual conduct.

According to CNBC reports, The CEO of the e-commerce giant was arrested late on Friday and was freed Saturday afternoon.

The company released a statement on Chinese social media Weibo, saying the allegations made against Liu were false.
The local police found no evidence of the alleged misconduct, the statement read, and Liu’s business trip has continued.

Liu has recently tried to distance himself from a sexual assault which took place after a party he threw in his penthouse in Australia in 2015.
